Maintaining a Diesel Vehicle

-Preheat engine for at least 5 minutes before taking off. If the vehicle has an inbuilt heating system was for the preheating indicator to turn off before starting the engine.

-Engage the clutch when starting the car as this helps lessen the load on the starter motor.

-Keep to lower engine raves 2000-3000 rpm to run engine efficiently and preserve fuel

-After every 5000 Kms ensure that the vehicle is regularly serviced

-Change oils

-Change filters

              -Oil filter

              -Air filter

              -Fuel filter

-Inspect Gaskets

-Check transmission fluid and top up is need be

-Keep battery terminals clean

              -Check battery water levels

-Yearly emission check-ups: exhaust and muzzle tests

-Get brakes and discs regularly checked and replace when worn out

-Check coolant levels, flush and fill radiator

-Suspension check-ups, service and replacement

-Keep good tyre pressure

-Do not let your fuel run dry as this damages the fuel pump and puts it at risk of rusting and malfunctioning
